Massive Dagga Cultivation Operation Uncovered In Mooinooi Farm

A large-scale dagga cultivation plant and laboratory were discovered on a farm located in Mooinooi, south of Brits, in the North West province.

The estimated value of the seized dagga amounted to R760,000. According to Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone, the spokesperson for the North West police, a search was conducted at the farm on Friday.

Upon arrival, the police found a 36-year-old man who claimed to be renting the property. The police uncovered a warehouse on the premises dedicated to dagga cultivation, comprising multiple rooms.

They confiscated various stages of dagga plants, along with other related products, which were estimated to have a street value of R760,000. Additionally, the authorities seized 18 lights, 11 fans, a battery, two gas bottles, an air conditioner, chemicals, two machines, a laptop, and a cell phone.

The matter is currently being investigated by the Hawks. The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Brits Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone stated that the provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, commended all the units involved in the operation and emphasized that the police will continue their efforts to eliminate drugs from communities through such arrests.
