MaShelembe from Mnakwethu threatens to sue Musa Mseleku for not paying her

Most fans have accused reality Television shows of being scripted for some time, and this recent scandal with Musa Mseleku and his show Mnakwethu has proven them suitable. In 2021, the show followed the story of MaShelembe, whose husband wanted to introduce Polygamy in their marriage. The story got a lot of screen time, media coverage, and sympathy from the public. However, MaShelembe has threatened to sue Musa Mseleku and his show over non-payment of beings shown on his reality Television series.

MaShelembe’s story gained popularity

MaShelembe’s husband came on the show to help break the news that he wanted to take a second wife to his first wife. However, things turned ugly for him when MaShelembe shared that she was pregnant and her child had nothing, even though the father wanted to pay lobola for another woman. The other woman was also rude and disrespectful to MaShelembe, who then decided to leave the marriage.

Upon further investigations, it was found that Langa, the husband, had not paid Lobola for MaShelembe but only paid damages for his first child. MaShelembe’s family found it disrespectful that he would want to pay lobola for another woman when he had not paid for their daughter. South Africans pledged to help MaShelembe through everything, and she had two baby showers thrown for her by KZN ladies, and the other Musa Mseleku attended with one of his wives.

MaShelembe accuses Musa Mseleku and Mnakwethu of non-payment

However, after a year of the story being shown on Television, MaShelembe has spoken out that she was not paid. The showrunners and Musa Mseleku had agreed to pay R50 000, but they have not yet paid them except R12 000 when she wanted to fix her car. After that, no other money was given to the three who were supposed to get R50 000 each for being on the show.

The three have told publications that they did not sign any contracts but had a verbal agreement with the showrunners. According to MaShelembe, their situation is worse than when they came on the show. She says she can not afford to buy pampers and food for her child. MaShelembe says the exposure from the show brought her nothing but stress. Even though Mzansi sympathizes with her again, fans can not help but feel cheated as the three were promised payment for sharing the story.
