Following their relegation to the second-tier, Maritzburg United might lose another crucial player who’s understood to be on AmaZulu FC’s radar.
Maritzburg failed to salvage their top-flight status as they fell short in the PSL Promotion Playoffs with Cape Town Spurs gaining promotion after finishing on top the table of the mini-league.
Next season, the Team of Choice will ply their trade in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. This publication has gathered that a number of their players are seeking top-flight opportunities ahead of the next season.
Maritzburg United have already parted ways with Ali Meza, Travis Graham, Wayde Jooste and Renaldo Learner. Meanwhile, multiple reports have suggested that Karim Kimvuidi is on the wishlist of Orlando Pirates.
However, the 21-year-old is yet to depart the Midlands side.
SIBONISO CONCO ON AMAZULU FC’S RADAR?
Meanwhile, FARPost has learnt that the winger Siboniso Conco is also heading out and Usuthu have already shown interest in him. According to a source known to this website, the Empangeni-born is also keen to make a move back to Durban.
Conco joined Maritzburg at the beginning of the past season on a free transfer after parting company with Lamontville Golden Arrows. However, the 27-year-old wasn’t used that much as he only played 13 DStv Premiership matches for the KZN capital side.
USUTHU HAS ALREADY COMPLETED THREE SIGNINGS
AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu revealed during the club’s press conference that they had already made three signings. He also confirmed that 11 players would be leaving the club including Lehlohonolo Majoro.
The two of the three signings are from the Motsepe Foundation Championship club. Usuthu have already secured Celimpilo Ngema’s signature. They signed the 25-year-old on a pre-contract in January.
AmaZulu recently announced a new coach Pablo Franco Martin who’ll be taking over after the club parted ways with Ayanda Dlamini who was an interim coach. Moreover, Romain Folz who was a head coach before Dlamini took the reins on an interim basis, tendered his resignation.
