Maritzburg United are expected to announce their new head coach on Monday, but have also suffered a hammer blow as Brandon Theron will be out for some time, iDiski Times has learnt.
With speculation rife that Fadlu Davids will be the man in charge, this publication has learnt the club will make an official announcement on Monday.
And the following day, 15 November, the players will return to training after they were given a few days off due to the FIFA World Cup that is starting later this month.
Theron suffered an injury against AmaZulu last month at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, in the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
He has since missed the last two matches, a 5-0 loss against Mamelodi Sundowns and 2-0 loss to Golden Arrows before the season was halted due to the FIFA World Cup starting later this month in Qatar.
The last match saw the end of the stay for coach John Maduka, who was fired by the club early this month alongside Ditheko Mototo and Simon Gopane due to the poor results.

According to sources, Theron, who can play in the midfield five as a wing back, tore ligaments in his knee and is currently on the cruches and is set to be out for four months.
The 29-year-old, who joined the club from Marumo Gallants at the beginning of last season, has started 10 of the 13 matches the club has played thus far.
This has left Maritzburg management fuming as Theron is a key player for them looking at where they are right now, lying at the bottom of the table with 11 points after 13 matches.
In an attempt to improve their position, Maritzburg will not only look to appoint a new coach, but also they are set to sign a few players in the aim to change their fortunes as they have only won two matches so far.
