Marise Pollard, the wife of Springboks fly-half Handre Pollard, opened up about getting back into her fitness journey after welcoming her second baby in October 2025, via an Instagram post on Wednesday 21 January.

MARISE POLLARD: ‘I’M NOT THE SAME’

Handre and Marise Pollard recently became parents of two, as they welcomed their second child, a baby girl named Isabella Tanya Pollard in October 2025. The couple, who has been married for eight years, welcomed their first child, Hunter Andre Pollard in April 2024. So, the pair have two under two.

Taking to Instagram, Marise shared that she is taking small steps to get back to her fitness journey. She explained that doesn’t train through pregnancy, and it wasn’t an easy start last week, when she attempted a short run, but now she is making progress with pilates. Take a look…

“I went for a short run last week and my pelvic floor said no 🫠. I’m not one of those people who can train through pregnancy, respect to those who can, and with back-to-back pregnancies, my body definitely needs a little extra grace,” she wrote.

“I’m just really grateful to be back and able to train again, because it’s always something I miss so much while I’m pregnant,” she continued.

“So here’s to small steps 🤍. Not bouncing back, because I’m not the same, and I can’t bounce back to who I was before. I’m so excited to meet this new version of my body, and to celebrate her for all she’s created in the last three years. 🫶🏼,” she concluded.

THE ‘MOMMY CLUB’

Handre and Marise are not the only Springbok couples with two under two. Also in October 2025, Springboks lock Eben Etzebeth and his wife Anlia welcomed their second child, a baby girl. The pair welcomed their first child in January 2024.

Springboks scrum Faf de Klerk and his wife Mine also welcomed their second baby in November 2025. Faf and Mine welcomed their first child Remi-Re in February 2024.
