Margeman – What Rulani Told Me

Grant Margeman, who is on loan at SuperSport United from Mamelodi Sundowns, has shared the advice he received from Rulani Mokwena.

The former Ajax Cape Town youth player joined Sundowns three seasons ago officially, but spent last season on loan at Swallows, and this campaign he joined SuperSport.

Speaking in this week’s edition of iDiski Times to Velile Mnyandu, Margeman opened up on his views about spending time on loan, and also shared what Mokwena told him.

“I think he’s one of the coaches that are really passionate, that really have a love for the game,” Margeman told iDiskiTimes, in edition 70.

“He is always looking at ways to improve the team. You know, he’s a guy that demands a lot from the guys on the training field, from the beginning to the end. He demands a lot from players, you know, especially in certain positions.

“Especially when it comes to times when you’re not playing, he will tell you keep on pushing yourself. There was a time he was telling me that he doesn’t like seeing players not always being involved.

“Obviously, he knows that I have the talent and he told me just keep on pushing yourself and don’t doubt yourself ever. I think he’s one of the guys that are passionate about football and also always looking at how he can change the way of playing.

“As you’ve been seeing the past few seasons with him, coach Manqoba and coach Steve they’ve been doing really well on that side. I think they have the combination that’s been really working for them.”

In edition 70 of iDiski Times Grant Margeman talks about his desire to show his worth at SuperSport United and eventually return to claim a spot at Mamelodi Sundowns. Banyana coach Desiree Ellis talks about their preperation for the World Cup and how the WAFCON gold medal has changed everything. There is also a feature putting focus on the Bafana Bafana goalkeeping conundrum. Read this and a whole lot more in the full edition below:
