Mamelodi Sundowns loanee Grant Margeman has said he has ‘unfinished business’ with the club ahead of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

Margeman had an impressive season on loan at SuperSport United in the 2022/23 season under the guidance of Gavin Hunt.

The Cape Town-born midfielder won a handful of Man-of-the-Match awards and scored crucial goals as Matsatsantsa qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup.

In the just-ended season, Margeman played 26 games in the league for SuperSport. He scored two goals and made three assists.

In addition, SuperSport won 14 games in the league, drawn nine and lost seven times in 30 games. They finished third on the league table with 51 points.

This publication confirmed this week that the midfield maestro will be teaming up with Sundowns for pre-season.

With Margeman seemingly afforded a chance to work closely with Sundowns technical team ahead of the 2023/24 season, he will be keen catch the eyes of head coach Rulani Mokwena.

His agent Ntobatsi Masegela says Margeman has ‘unfinished business’ with Masandawana, and the player wants to compete in the CAF Champions League.

“Grant Margeman feels he has unfinished business with his parent club Mamelodi Sundowns,” Ntobatsi told FARPost.

“I mean he had a great season with SuperSport United and scored some important goals for them.

“So if Sundowns offers him an opportunity to stay, he will stay and fight for his position in the squad.

“Another important thing for the player is that he finds a stable home; we don’t want him going out on loan every season.”

Meanwhile, SuperSport remain tight-lipped on whether or not they want to keep Margeman for next season.

“We have not heard anything from SuperSport United since the season ended. So as it stands Margeman will be with Sundowns,” added the agent.
