Radio personality Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma has revealed that after five successful years, her stint at Vuma FM has come to an unexpected end after her employment contract was terminated, with no reasons given.

As of late, the rising rate of illegal immigration in South Africa has been highlighted by citizens as one of the issues that should be prioritised by government.

Some citizens have also identified illegal immigration as one of the leading reasons for the high unemployment rate which South Africa boasts.

As a result, various citizen-led movements have come about, with members of the public opting to take matters into their own hands to do what they can to fight against a system they believe is working against them. The March and March movement is one of these initiatives. It has recently gained substantial traction, as citizens reveal the desire to feel seen and represented by them.

Led by radio personality Jacinta Ngobese, March and March is described as “a citizen-led movement tackling illegal immigration’s impact on South Africa” by their Facebook page. The movement has gained significant numbers, with Jacinta subsequently becoming one of the faces of the fight against illegal immigration. One of their missions has been the exclusion of foreign nationals from public healthcare facilities, citing that it is strictly reserved for South African citizens.

Recently, the March and March leader took to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal that after five years of working for Vuma FM, the organisation has opted to terminate her employment contract without providing any reasons as to how or why they came to that decision. She revealed that her last day at work is scheduled for 31 July 2025.

” To the March and March family, let us not be deterred, whatever brutality we are subjected to, the truth will set us free, even in the midst of adversity we still demand the recognition of the rights of the South African citizens,” her statement reads.

In light of the news, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane’s name has emerged as the alleged mastermind behind Jacinta’s exit from Vuma FM. According to Sunday World,  Simelane threatened to pull the station’s government funding if they failed to fire the presenter and activist.
