Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi has played down the incident between Steve Komphela and TS Galaxy boss Sead Ramovic.
Ramovic made it clear that he felt disrespected by Komphela during their 3-0 defeat at Mbombela Stadium, in which the pair were seen exchanging words in a heated argument.
ButMngqithi says it was nothing out of the ordinary as Komphela argued about ‘some moments’ which he felt was not malicious against the Bosnian tactician.
“The issue of the coach of TS Galaxy and coach Steve, I just think, they just had heated discussions based on some moments in the game where there were disagreements,” he said in the post-match press conference.
“It’s not something you’ll want to spend much time on because it’s very normal in football.
“We all get emotional and he also got emotional like everybody else, but it was never anything malicious.
“I don’t think there was any malicious intent or any disrespect in that matter. For me, I just saw it as a very emotional talk based on what was happening on the pitch at the time.”
The win for Sundowns moved them 18 points clear of second-placed Royal AM ahead of their next league encounter against Maritzburg United on Saturday evening.
