Springbok flyhalf Manie Libbok and his wife Verna-Lee have celebrated their first wedding anniversary.

The pair tied the knot at Seeplaas in Groot Brakrivier near Mossel Bay.

The Libboks marked their first wedding anniversary with a few photos, including one of them in the City of Love, sharing a kiss in front of the Eiffel Tower.

“𝟯𝟲𝟱 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗼𝗳 #LibbokKiss 💋 | 𝟬𝟱·𝟭𝟬·𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰,” she wrote.

THE LOVE STORY

Manie and Verna-Lee met at Outeniqua High School in George in the Western Cape. Verna-Lee previously described Manie as “shy and quiet” saying she was the one with a more bubbly personality and the first to talk to him.

“We were in the same business class and that’s where we met. He was very shy and quiet and I’m very bubbly so I was the first one talking to him,” she said in an interview.

The pair began dating in 2016.

By 2023, Manie popped the big question and Verna said YES!

The pair got engaged at Klein Roosboom Boutique Winery in Cape Town.

Manie expressed that he was instantly interested in Verna.

“She caught my eye from the word go, to be honest. I just wanted to be close to her,” he said.

Take a look inside the couple’s special day below.

This comes as Manie bids farewell to the Stormers.

“Thank you Stormers family, and of course, to the incredible Faithful. 💙⚡I want to take this moment to express my deepest gratitude to everyone at the @dhlstormers. From the coaches, management, medical team, and all the hardworking staff at the HPC. Thank you for the trust you placed in me and for believing. That belief inspired me to be the best version of myself,” he wrote.

“To my teammates, thank you for the memories, the battles we fought together, and the brotherhood we built,” he continued.
