African Footballer of the Year, Sadio Mane was in a heated altercation with Leroy Sane after Bayern Munich’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City and allegedly hit his teammate, according to reports in Germany.
Mane, who turned 31 this week, has been struggling to regain his top form since moving to the German giants, and has been without a goal since picking up an injury before the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
In Bayern’s 3-0 defeat to Man City, Mane came on as a second-half substitute but hardly touched the ball after replacing Jamal Musiala after 69 minutes.
Mane and Sane are understood to have had an altercation on the pitch already, during which the Senegal captain felt disrespected, Sport Bild report.
Their heated clash continued after the final whistle in the change room, when both players again clashed and Mane allegedly hit Sane on the lip.
The club are yet to make a statement on the incident.
Overall, Mane has made 31 appearances since joining Bayern from Liverpool, scoring 11 goals and setting up another five.
