Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has credited Benni McCarthy for his improved form this season.

The 25-year-old, who has been called up into England’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, has already surpassed his goals tally from last season.

Rashford has now admitted that United’s new first-team coach McCarthy has helped him to reach new heights this season.

“He’s definitely helped me a lot,” Rashford said of his relationship with McCarthy,” he said, as per Metro.

“To have them attack-minded coaches is good for us in the squad, he’s always there speaking to us about these things.”

McCarthy was appointed as United’s first-team coach ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, leaving Erik Ten Hag impressed in his assessments and interview.

The Dutchman later explained that McCarthy will work with the club’s attacking players and “will focus on the positioning and attacking”.

Rashford seems to be one of the players, who have benefitted from the appointment of the former Bafana Bafana striker, having scored eight goals in just 18 games across all competition this season in comparison to just five in 32 matches 2021/22.
