‘Man of God’ rescued at Lebowakgomo mountains after going there for secret prayer

A Zionist Priest, George Mondane (33) from Makgofe outside Seshego, was rescued by a SAPS search and rescue team after he reportedly went to the chuenespoort mountains in Lebowakgomo outside Polokwane on Monday, 05 September 2022 to have a secret prayer session where he later started to feel uneasy, hallucinated and lost his way back.

Polokwane Lieutenant Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says after George had realised that he ran out of food, water and frantically wandered around the mountains, he then managed to call the police for help as his phone was fully charged.

Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says priest was treated for minor dehydration and shock before he was taken back home.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has warned community members to be extra cautious when performing their rituals at hazardous places.
