Mampintsha and Babes Wodumo make serious business moves as they add clothing and alcohol to existing empire

Mandla Maphumulo mostly known as Mampintsa is securing bags. He took a small career switch-up that can make him very rich. He ventured into the business of clothing and alcohol to his existing empire.

Artistry and owning West Ink Entertainment

Mampintsha entered the industry as a member of the Durban kwaito group Big Nuz. At the time he was signed under Tira’s record label called Afroteinment. After being a huge star in Mzansi Mampintsha decided to do his own thing. He opened up his own record label.

He opened West Ink entertainment at a point in his life when he understood the music business. By virtue of having his own label, he enabled himself security and financial freedom.

Alcohol brand and clothing brand

Mampintsha is the founder of the OS liquor brand which brands gin and vodka. Two products on the brand are OS Gin and OSVodka. OS stands for Origional Shandis. Original Shandis means something that is authentic and on top of the range.

When Mampintsha first tasted the brand he assured his future consumers his brand isn’t toxic. “This liquor brand is not the type to make you vomit,” he said.

West Ink record label owner

As mentioned his first and main business is the record label West Ink entertainment. On the label Babes Wodumo his wife is one of his signed artists. Another big star in West Ink is the gqom artist Ma Danone. West Ink is generating a lot of money with gigs and promotions.

Promotions of OS

So far the biggest way to promote the brand is with club promotions. Bartenders use the OS liquor to make coctails. Another big factor is the type of clubs they go to. OSvodka and OSgin is only promoted in upmarket lifestyle night clubs.

Clothing brand

As a subdivision of the OS brand Mampintsha created a clothing brand. Fans aren’t too happy with the prices however. One tracksuit retails for R1400. One bucket hat retails for R400. He might add in new items as well.
