Former Cape Town All Stars have confirmed the club was renamed to All Stars Football Club after it’s relocation to Johannesburg.
On Tuesday, club CEO Morgan Mammila unveiled the club’s new name and logo via his social media account, saying the team will now be known as All Stars FC, nicknamed ‘Umlilo’.
As previously reported by iDiski Times, the club relocated to Johannesburg and will be using Tsakane Stadiumas their new home base.
With the 2022/23 Motsepe Foundation Championship kicking off on Friday, Mammila shared some insights into the new team, which will be led by Sinethemba Badela who replaced Allan Freeze, and revealed the club’s targets for the upcoming campaign.
“It’s a new team, new players. A balanced team, mixed with experienced players from PSL and NFD. The reason we called it All Stars is because there’s a lot of stars in this team and they are hungry for success,” Mammila told iDiski Times.

“The team finished third on the league last season, so we’ve set ourselves a goal of finishing better than last season, we going for number one. Remember this is a promotional league you can’t be playing to maintain status.”
