MaMkhize – What I Told Royal AM Players At HT

Royal AM president Shauwn Mkhize has revealed what she told her players at half-time in their Nedbank Cup semi-final against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Thwihli Thwahla hosted the DStv Premiership champions at the Chatsworth Stadium on Friday but were beaten 2-1 on the night, missing out on the final.

However, president MaMkhize was still proud of her team and said she went into the dressing room at half-time to give the players a message of support.

“Royal AM is a family club and we are one big happy family. We win together and we lose together,” Mkhize said on PSL Now.

“For me, I just went there to say ‘guys, we are in this together’. Remember now the stadium is full, so maybe some of them, they haven’t seen me.

“Number one, I came in a bit later, so I wasn’t with them during the warm-up time. So the stadium is full, so I needed to tell them ‘that voice is on the other side, find that voice’. So I just went to say we’re in this together.

“By the way, they did very well on half-time because the intention was to hold Sundowns in the first half. They must know we’re there, nobody must do anything, we hold them and we contain them, which we did.

“So the second half was to go and fight.”

Royal AM return to league football on Wednesday when they travel to Harry Gwala Stadium for the KZN derby against Maritzburg United.

John Maduka’s men currently sit in second place on the log with 45 points, but Cape Town City are hot on their heels with just a single point less.
