Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies won big at the Hollywoodbets Super League end of season awards in Sandton on Saturday.
Head coach Jerry Tshabalala was named coach of the season while Boitumelo Rabale won player of the season.
Tshabalala led Sundowns to their third successive title. This time around they wrapped up the title with three matches to go, finishing on 82 points, scoring 127 goals and conceding 13.
Tshabalala dedicated the award to his players and the coaches in the league saying they pushed him and his charges. The coach beat competition from Thinasonke Mbuli of the University of Western Cape (UWC) and Lucky Sibiya of Tshwane University of Technology (TUT).
Meanwhile the Lesotho international was nominated with teammate Bambanani Mbane and TUT’s Busisiwe Ndimeni. In other categories Nthabiseng Majola won the young player of the season award for a second season in a row.
The Richmond United player was nominated with teammate Michelle Sampson and JVW’s Cimone Sauls. Goalkeeper of the season went to Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies’ Katlego Moletsane, Nompumelelo Nyandeni is the league’s top goal scorer for a second season in a row with 30 goals.
Amogelang Msiza was named the assistant referee of the season while Hloniphile Msezane was announced as the referee of the season.
A La Liga official announced at the awards ceremony that the winners will travel to Spain for an experience courtesy of a partnership La Liga enjoys with league sponsors Hollywoodbets.
