Mamelodi Sundowns out to grab top spot from Orlando Pirates

Mamelodi Sundowns return to domestic action on Tuesday, 17 March when they host Marumo Gallants in a Betway Premiership clash at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

Fresh from their CAF Champions League success over the weekend, Masandawana now shift their focus back to the league as they continue their title defence.

No Room for Complacency

The two sides last met earlier this season, playing out a 1-1 draw in Bloemfontein.

Despite Marumo Gallants currently hovering in the relegation zone, Mamelodi Sundowns are taking nothing for granted.

Assistant coach Nuno Santos emphasised the importance of maintaining the right mindset heading into the fixture.

“In football there is no easy game. We have to go with the right mentality, intentions and focus to the game. If we do that, we can do well and have a great game. We can be able to walk away with the three points,” he said.

Title Charge Continues

With the league entering a crucial stage, Mamelodi Sundowns will be aiming to collect maximum points and move back to the top of the table.

Meanwhile, Marumo Gallants will be desperate for points as they look to climb out of the relegation zone, setting up what could be a competitive encounter despite the gap in standings.
