South African superfan Joy “Mama Joy” Chauke has announced that she’s engaged to her French boyfriend, Nicolas “Papa Joy” Pitaud.
The couple were in Cape Town to watch the Springboks beat the All Blacks 18-12 when Pitaud asked Mama Joy to marry him.
Mama Joy shared the happy news on social media.
“Papa Joy asked something. I said yes. Watch this space,” she wrote.
“Love is beautiful. We seal it with a kiss—I mean a ring.”
This comes just a few months after Mama Joy visited France, where she met Papa Joy’s mother.
His mother gave her a gold ring as a sign that she was accepted into their family.
While in France, Mama Joy showed her love for Papa Joy and introduced him to traditional South African food.
Fans have been flooding Mama Joy’s social media with love and congratulations, sharing photos and videos.
In August, Mama Joy told Scrolla.Africa that Papa Joy would visit her family in September.
The two met last year at the Rugby World Cup in Paris, and Papa Joy later paid for her flight to visit him during the Olympics.
