Maluleka – I’m On A New Journey Now

New AmaZulu signing George Maluleka has opened up on his Mamelodi Sundowns exit and said he is looking forward to his new journey in Durban.

The former SuperSport United, Ajax Cape Town and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder parted ways with the DStv Premiership champions at the end of last month, after a difficult two-year period where he saw limited game time after his much-maligned move from Chiefs in 2020.

Speaking to Velile Mnyandu in the latest edition of iDiski Times, Maluleka said he had no regrets about his time at Chloorkop and appreciated his time there.

“I had a very nice time at Sundowns,” Maluleka told iDiski Times.

“I enjoyed myself, and enjoyed my time over there. What can I say?

“I don’t know what to say about that, because I’ve been at AmaZulu, my main focus has been concentrating on being here since I arrived, to be honest.

“But I did thank Mamelodi Sundowns, we left on good terms, but I really had a good time. I learned so much. I left with so much.

“I thank the coaches, the technical team, and the president because when I went there, the chairman Tlhopie Motsepe was there, Yogesh was there.

“They gave me an opportunity to go because they knew what I could do. Unfortunately, things happen, and we had to part ways. Mamelodi Sundowns was another chapter in my career and I’m grateful for it.

“So yeah, I’ve never looked back since like I said I’m on a new journey now and I’m very happy.”
