Makhadzi is taking it back to where it all began. The award-winning singer returned to Thohoyandou, Venda, to launch her upcoming One Woman Show, set for December 2025.

The shopping complex where the event was held holds deep personal meaning — it’s the same place where, 15 years ago, she sang with a speaker and sold her CDs to passersby.

The December show, branded Womandla, will be staged over two days—20 December at Makhuvha Stadium and 21 December at Rabali Stadium in Limpopo. According to the artist, 90% of the lineup will feature Limpopo-born talent, a deliberate choice aimed at giving back to the region that shaped her, reported The Citizen.

“I want to celebrate where I come from and give other artists from Limpopo a chance to shine,” she told Briefly News. The initial lineup includes the likes of DJ Zinhle and Nomcebo Zikode.

Makhadzi emphasised that the show would be a platform for powerful African women: “Only female artists, bold, powerful, and proudly African. This show is about honouring the voices that are shaping the future.”

Last year’s One Woman Show at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane was a sold-out spectacle, drawing performances from DJ Tira, Sho Madjozi, Gigi Lamayne, Zola 7, and Malaika.

Despite some controversy surrounding some frustrated attendees, anticipation for the show is already at an all-time high, as her extensive catalogue filled with chart-toppers, coupled with her ability to pull off an unforgettable performance, has fans salivating at the thought of the show.
