Mamelodi Sundowns forward Cassius Mailula has insisted he remains fully focussed on the Masandawana after rumours linked him with a move to Ligue 1.

There had been some talk in local media that a French top flight club was interested in the services of the 21-year-old, who is experiencing a stellar breakout campaign.

His 14 goals and four assists in all competitions have made him a permanent feature in Rulani Mokwena’s starting XI, and he’s not just the leading contender for the Premier Soccer League Young Player of the Season award but also in the discussion for the PSL’s main gong – the Footballer of the Season.

After reporting to Bafana camp for the first time, Mailula was asked about the rumours of a move to Europe, but insisted he’s in no rush.

“I think in that situation everything will happen at it’s own time,” he told Bafana Media Officer Romy Titus.

“I don’t need to rush anything. If it has to happen too early, it will be a problem.

“But for me I think I don’t have to rush anything. If it happens after a season, it’s also fine with me.

“For me, it will happen at the right time. For now, my focus is just at Sundowns and to also help the national team.”
