Magesi FC remain the only unbeaten team in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after seven league matches, following an impressive 3-1 victory over cross-town neighbours Venda FC.

Dikwena tsa Meetse remain rooted at the top of the 16-team log with 17 points after recording five victories and two draws, strengthening their position as early contenders for promotion to the Betway Premiership.

Their latest victory over Venda FC further cemented their position at the summit while condemning the Thohoyandou-based side to the bottom of the standings.

Magesi’s impressive start to the campaign has underlined their consistency and determination as they continue to set the pace in the highly competitive second-tier league.

The Limpopo outfit have demonstrated their ability to collect maximum points while remaining difficult to beat, a combination that could prove decisive in their promotion ambitions.

Meanwhile, Venda FC are enduring a difficult start to the season, with the defeat leaving them struggling at the foot of the table after seven rounds of fixtures.

The Thohoyandou-based side will need to improve their results urgently if they are to climb away from the relegation positions and revive their campaign.

Elsewhere, Real Native FC strengthened their position among the leading contenders after defeating The Bees FC 1-0, taking their points tally to 15 and maintaining second place.

Cape Town City FC occupy third position with 14 points following an entertaining 3-2 victory over Gomora United.

With Magesi holding a two-point advantage over Real Native and a three-point lead over Cape Town City, the battle at the top of the standings is beginning to take shape.

However, with the season still in its early stages, Dikwena tsa Meetse will need to maintain their consistency if they are to sustain their challenge for promotion.

For now, Magesi remain the team to beat in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, with their unbeaten record and commanding position at the top of the table sending a strong message to their promotion rivals.
