MacG’s Mouth Lands Him and Sol in Hot Water Again!

Mzansi’s podcast enfant terrible, MacG, and his co-hosts Sol Phenduka and Ghost Lady are facing another financially draining legal battle after they allegedly put their foot in their mouths again!

Africa Daily can exclusively reveal that Webber Wentzel, the law firm representing Homecoming Events organisers, has unleashed a letter of demand on the three musketeers, demanding that they retract and apologise for claims they made that a woman was raped a well known DJ at one of their events at Sun City in North West.

In the letter, Webber Wentzel lawyers Raynold Tlhavani and Odwa Abraham stated that the trio had until 5 June 2026 to retract the allegations and issue an apology.

But the trio allegedly showed the lawyers the middle finger.

According to the letter of demand, which Africa Daily has seen, the attorneys who are acting on behalf of Homecoming Events (Pty) Ltd and its directors, Oratile Sangweni and Athabile Ngxamngxa , stated during a Podcast and Chill’s episode titled “Blue Mbombo Drama | Simphiwe Dana, Alostro? SweetGuluva DNA Drama! | Bafana Bafana Visa Crisis”, the podcasters alleged that there was woman who was raped by a prominent celebrity during the event.

They alleged that the impresarios had covered it up because the incident had the propensity to damage the event’s image.

“Homecoming last year there was a big celebrity who raped someone, right, like very big… But the team at Homecoming tried to shut it down so it does not come out because it is going to kill their business.”

The attorneys argued that the statements, which were published in the episode that was broadcasted on or about 1 June 2026 , were false, unsubstantiated and highly defamatory.

According to the letter, the comments created the impression that Homecoming Events and its representatives were aware of a rape allegation involving a prominent celebrity and had deliberately attempted to suppress it in order to protect the company’s commercial interests.

The lawyers further argued that the allegations were capable of causing severe reputational damage, potentially resulting in sponsors withdrawing support, artists distancing themselves from the company, declining ticket sales and difficulties in maintaining venue partnerships.

As a result, the attorneys demanded the immediate removal of the episode and any related content from YouTube and other social media platforms, a written undertaking that the allegations would not be repeated, and an unconditional public apology.

“Accordingly, we are instructed to demand, as we hereby do, that you

immediately retract and remove the episode from your YouTube channel and any other platform on which it has been published ,” reads the letter.

The letter further said the trio must also immediately retract and remove any posts, clips, or content published across any social media platform in relation to or arising out of the episode.

“Provide our clients with a written undertaking that you will refrain from republishing or further disseminating the episode or any portion thereof; and unconditionally apologise to our clients by having the apology verbally read aloud by the hosts, being MacG and Solomzi Thandubuntu Phenduka and the Ghost Lady, on the same YouTube podcast channel on which the defamatory statements were originally made,” reads the letter.

The letter added alternatively ,the trio could dedicate an episode or clearly identifiable segment thereof and simultaneously publishing the written text of the apology and resharing and promoting it across all social media accounts and platforms associated with the podcast and the Podcast and Chill Network.

They also warned that failure to comply with the demands would leave their clients with no option but to pursue urgent legal proceedings to seek recourse.

Speaking to Africa Daily, Tlhavani said he was not aware if MacG, Sol Phenduka and Ghost Lady have complied with their demands for an apology.

He refused to comment further, hinting that they have already taken a decision to drag the trio to court for giving them the bird.

“ I’m not comfortable talking to the media about this matter because we have taken further steps against those individuals,” he said.

The latest legal woes come after radio personality Minnie Dlamini filed a hate speech against the three at the Equality Court . This was after MacG claimed that Dlamini is unable to sustain her romantic relationship probably because her private parts smell.
