DStv dumps Mac G

Popular YouTuber Mac G’s brief run on television has come to an unexpected halt after DStv reportedly ended its partnership with his show, Podcast and Chill.

The decision comes just a month after the podcast began airing on Mzansi Magic and Mzansi Wethu, marking what many thought would be a promising new chapter in Mac G’s career.

The fallout follows a wave of public outrage after he made disparaging remarks about actress and TV personality Minnie Dlamini on his YouTube channel.

Though he later issued an apology for his comments, the backlash was swift and unforgiving.

According to TimesLIVE, the partnership with MultiChoice officially ended on Sunday, 25 May, effectively pulling the plug on Mac G’s television presence.

Sowetan previously reported that the episode containing the remarks about Dlamini was withheld from airing on DStv platforms, hinting at growing discomfort behind the scenes.

Social media lit up over the weekend as South Africans reacted to the news.

Blogger Musa Khawula also confirmed the development on his X account, stating on Saturday, 24 May, that the podcaster had been dropped.
