Lynn Forbes recalls emotional dreams of late son AKA comforting her from heaven

Lynn Forbes has opened up about life after the loss of her son, Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, more than two years after his tragic death.

The award-winning rapper was shot and killed in Durban on 10 February 2023, leaving fans and family devastated.

In a heartfelt interview on the Ikigai Awakening podcast, shared on Wednesday, 13 August 2025, Lynn reflected on her ongoing grief and the ways her son still feels present in her life.

She revealed that she often dreams about him, describing one recurring moment in particular: “He talked about checking up on me, how’s this and that, and telling me about heaven. ‘It’s the most beautiful place, mom. I don’t want you to worry, I am happy.’”

She added that in the dream, AKA even asked her to make him a sandwich with Oros.

The media personality admitted that it took her eight months after his passing before she could bring herself to watch the viral video of his final moments.

She also recently connected with Riky Rick’s mother, finding shared understanding through their similar loss.

Fans flooded the comment section of the interview with messages of love and admiration for her courage in speaking so openly about her grief while continuing to inspire others.
