Former Orlando Pirates captain Lucky Lekgwathi has offered some advice to the Buccaneers players ahead of their MTN8 second-leg semifinal sold-out affair against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Sea Robbers will go head-to-head with Bafana Ba Style at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium this afternoon [15h30].

Lekgwathi has urged the Soweto giants’ troops to play their normal game and not put themselves under unnecessary pressure.

The second-leg clash remains anyone’s game as both sides played out to a goalless draw a fortnight ago at Orlando Stadium.

LEKGWATHI’S ADVICE TO BUCS PLAYERS…

Speaking to FARPost ahead of the much-awaited mouthwatering encounter, the Pirates legend said that: “My advice to Pirates players is that they must not concede. Obviously they must play their normal game.

“And they must not put themselves under pressure. Sundowns are the ones who should put themselves under pressure because they are playing at home away from home.

“They [Sundowns] know very well that if they concede they will be curious and start being careful as they will stop attacking. You know Sundowns they are a very attacking team and if they attack they are going to open the shop.”

The 46-year-old retired footballer continued: “For me, Pirates must play their normal game just the way they played at Orlando Stadium.

“As players, you must watch the games [repeats] and analyse the game which will be easy for them to beat Sundowns. One thing for sure Pirates supporters will be many than of Sundowns.”

LEKGWATHI IN A BULLISH MOOD

“Pirates have an upper hand to beating Sundowns with the recent performance after playing them at Orlando Stadium and their last game against Golden Arrows,” he told this publication.

“I’m aware the games in between they didn’t play well because the coach changed the squad a lot and disturbed that chain but after that, he saw what he was doing wrong.”

Meanwhile, the Brazilians might be without their hitman Peter Shalulile, who is reported to have suffered an injury setback.
