A Valentine’s Day made for connection
This Valentine’s Day, romance will have its own soundtrack at GROUND The Venue, as Lovers Rock — the immersive festival curated by J’Something and Coco — returns for its second edition. The Saturday event promises to fuse music, food, and a sense of community into a celebration of love and togetherness.
For Jeff “J’Something” Seroke, lead singer of award-winning band Mi Casa, and his wife Coco, Lovers Rock is more than just a festival. It’s an extension of their shared passions — music, food, and creating spaces for people to connect. “We want people to feel love — from us, from each other, and from themselves,” Coco explained.
Designing moments that matter
Lovers Rock isn’t your typical festival. The couple has meticulously designed spaces to encourage wandering, connection, and discovery. From playful carnival corners with nostalgic games, popcorn, and slushies, to curated food and lifestyle markets featuring artisanal eats, fashion, and local crafts, every corner is crafted to delight.
Special zones cater to different experiences: the Seated Dining Experience offers an intimate meal with the best view of the house, while the Picnic Experience provides curated picnic boxes on the lawn for couples seeking a relaxed setting. For groups of friends, the Pecan Area is designed for shared moments and triple-date vibes.
J’Something said, “The magic of Lovers Rock is in the details — every experience is curated to make people feel special, whether they’re dining, picnicking, or just enjoying the music.”
A feast for the senses
Coco, a culinary creator in her own right, has prepared a menu that reflects her and J’s passion for food. Guests can expect a three-course spread featuring vegetarian and meat options. Starters include butter and roasted tomato or a fish dish, mains offer beef fillet or roasted mushrooms for vegetarians, and dessert remains a surprise, promising to keep anticipation high.
The festival is designed to be as much about the heart as the palate. Coco said, “Every touchpoint — from the food to the photo moments to the carnival — is about connection. We want people to remember this Valentine’s Day as a truly special moment.”
Music that moves
Of course, no Lovers Rock is complete without live music. House-pop icons Mi Casa headline the festival, joined by the legendary South African duo Liquideep, returning to the stage together for the first time in 11 years. Over 12 hours of handpicked performances, including top DJs, will keep the energy alive, making the festival a full-day celebration of rhythm and soul.
A community of love
Ultimately, Lovers Rock is about more than Valentine’s Day. It’s about building a modern community where music, food, and creativity intersect. J’Something said, “Connection is a human craving. At Lovers Rock, we’re creating a space where people value that — where they can enjoy each other, themselves, and the art around them.”
Tickets are available now, with general admission providing access to all festival zones, ensuring that everyone can experience the love and soul that J’Something and Coco have infused into this special day.
