Londie London reveals why she quit acting

Londie London recounts a troubling set experience that made her end her acting career

South African reality TV star and singer Londie London has shed light on why she walked away from acting.

Speaking on the Read The Room podcast under the Podcast and Chill Network, alongside hosts Shamiso Mosaka and Phil Mphela, the former The Real Housewives of Durban star reflected on a moment she says left her deeply uncomfortable.

Londie explained that, as someone without formal acting training, she felt unprepared for certain scenes, particularly intimate ones.

“First of all, I am not a trained actress, and there was no trainer to prepare us for these types of scenes, so nobody told me what to expect,” she said.

She went on to describe filming a scene that involved her wearing lingerie while acting opposite a male co-star, saying the situation quickly became overwhelming for her.

“I was wearing lingerie, and the boy was lying on top of me, breathing heavily, and he was dripping wet from sweating. His manhood was there,” she shared.

The experience, she said, left her confused and uneasy, ultimately leading to her decision to step away from acting altogether.

“I was very confused about what was happening,” she said, adding that she chose to prioritise her well-being.

“I swore to myself that I would never take up acting again. I had a horrible experience when filming that hot scene with this man.”

While she did not reveal the name of the production or the actor involved, Londie admitted the co-star was attractive but not someone she would consider romantically due to their age difference.

“He was actually very hot. We would have become more than that, but he was way younger than me. If I am older than a guy, maybe by two or even three years, then he is just a boy to me,” she added.
