Eskom has announced that load shedding will be suspended during the daytime today.
Eskom said that lower-than-expected demand and improved generating capacity means that load shedding will be suspended from 10:00 until 16:00 today, 6 January.
Stage 2 load shedding will then start at 16:00 until 05:00 on Sunday, 7 January.
Load shedding will then be suspended again from 05:00 until 16:00 tomorrow.
Eskom said that it will communicate should any significant changes occur.
The updated schedule for the weekend can be found below:
Saturday, 6 January
- Suspended: 10h00 to 16h00
- Stage 2: 16h00 to 00h00
Sunday, 7 January
- Stage 2: 00h00 to 05h00
- Suspended: 05h00 to 16h00
