The match, held at TP Mazembe Stadium on Saturday, marked the start of a busy period for Amakhosi, who now shift focus to domestic competition.

They are set to take on Siwelele FC in a Betway Premiership fixture at FNB Stadium on Wednesday, 22 October.

Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30.

Kaizer Chiefs currently sit fourth on the league table with 15 points from eight matches. In contrast, Siwelele are struggling, placed 14th with just seven points from nine games.

Latest Betway Premiership log ahead of Wednesday’s matches

Ahead of the clash, the Kaizer Chiefs medical team is managing several injuries, with George Matlou, Ethan Chislett, Paseka Mako, Bontle Molefe, Given Msimango, and Rushwin Dortley all sidelined.

Msimango and Dortley have been long-term absentees, adding to selection headaches for the coaching staff.

There is some good news, however, with Lebohang Maboe, Etiosa Ighodaro, and Nkanyiso Shinga nearing full fitness and potentially available for selection soon.

Siwelele’s squad includes familiar faces for Kaizer Chiefs fans, such as former players Tebogo Potsane and Christian Saile, along with current Amakhosi loanees Samkelo Zwane and Happy Mashiane.

Their presence is expected to add extra intensity to the midweek clash, given their insider knowledge of the Soweto giant’s system.

Tickets for the match are priced at R60 and are available through online platforms www.opentickets.co.za, www.kaizerchiefs.com, and retail outlets including Shoprite, Checkers, and Usave.

With CAF Confederation Cup ambitions on the horizon and domestic pride at stake, Wednesday’s match is set to be a crucial test for Kaizer Chiefs in front of their home fans.
