South African actor and entrepreneur Lindah Majola expressed his shock about the closure of Showmax, following the announcement of the streaming platform’s shutdown on 5 March.
SHOWMAX: WHERE LINDAH’S ACTING CAREER BEGAN
Before landing his breakthrough role on Showmax, Lindah gained popularity from his hilarious skits on social media.
The Durban-born star played the character of outspoken Langa Dladla on the smash hit telenovela The Wife, which was based on the best-selling books The Hlomu Series by Dudu Busani-Dube. His character was also a twin to the main character, Hlomu, played by Mbali Mavimbela.
On his Instagram Stories, Lindah reflected on his journey with Showmax by posting a clip of his performance from The Wife, referring to it as “the platform that launched my acting career.”
In an interview with Showmax, Lindah said the following about his experience on the show before leaving to explore his other talents.
“I’ve had an amazing experience on set. I’ve been working with some of the most talented people who have been in the industry for so long. They’ve been very supportive and helpful.”

Lindah’s acting career quickly gained traction after his brilliant stint on The Wife. He thereafter joined SABC 1’s most-watched show, Uzalo, where he portrayed the exciting character of Mzamo Shezi, a flamboyant and ambitious young man.
