The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Limpopo calls on Limpopo premier to discipline Thandi Moraka, MEC for sports Arts and Culture for owning an RDP house she inherited from her late mother, despite being a public servant.
Titus Tshungu, EFF Communication manager alleged that Moraka had evicted an unemployed mother with her 15 year-old child from the RDP house she has been renting in extension 4, Marapong in Lephalale.
Tshungu said that there have been claims that Moraka has sold the government’s low cost house for personal gains.
Tshungu further stated that, “It is important to highlight that it has always been illegal to rent out an RDP house for profit.”
The EFF calls on law enforcement agencies to investigate Moraka over the sale of an RDP house and a possible breach of code of conduct.
He added by saying in accordance with the code of conduct for members of the Limpopo Legislature, Moraka ought to have declared that she’s the registered owner of the RDP house and therefore relinquish the ownership to avoid conflict of interest.
