Limpopo ‘Boko Haram’ Gang Members Sentenced To Combined 384 Years
On Tuesday, 28 June, three members of the Boko Haram gang received harsh sentences in the Polokwane High Court for a series of serious crimes committed between September and October 2017.
Ndou Lukase Rembuluwani, 29, Ndou Ben, 29, and Khoza Small, 28, are members of a local gang named Boko Haram after the continental terror group.

The group terrorised communities in Limpopo’s Seshego and Westenburg areas, according to police, by committing crimes such as murder, attempted murder, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, housebreaking with intent to rob, robbery with aggravating circumstances, malicious damage to property, theft and house robberies, as well as violating immigration laws and being in the country illegally.
According to South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, the “reign of terror” for which the three accused were arrested and sentenced lasted two months.
Rembuluwani, Ben, and Small were arrested by police on Friday, 20 October 2017 , after an attempted robbery in which one of their accomplices was shot and killed.

The suspects sent their girlfriends to the hospital on the day of their arrest to see if their accomplice was admitted – they fled the robbery scene where he was wounded and were unaware that he had died.
The hospital alerted the police, who used the girlfriends to locate the accused, who were hiding in Seshego. Stolen property, as well as guns and ammunition, were discovered at the hideout, and the men were linked to additional crimes.
The Polokwane court sentenced each Boko Haram member to 128 years in prison and declared them unfit to possess a firearm. “We are contented with the long jail sentences that were handed down by the High Court against these heartless thugs whom were terrorising communities in the said areas.
“The investigating skills of the Detective and team that assisted him are highly appreciated and commendable,” said Limpopo police commissioner, Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe.
