The South African Football Association (SAFA) in the Mopani region have sent a strong message to their local teams that they will not tollarate any form of corruption within their structures.
This comes the region banned two football clubs for life following recent bizarre shorelines that shook the SA football fretinity.
The incident first surfaced on Metro FM Sports show, Sports Night Amplified with Andile Ncube
On Saturday, 21 May 2022 Matiyasi FC, who were vying for promotion to the Provincial ABC Motsepe League, beat Nsami Mighty Birds 59-1. 41 of the goals scored were own goals.
A player who was recorded to have been giving a red card in the first half was also recorded to have scored a goal in the second half.
In another match from the same region, Shivulani Dangerous Tigers, who are who are Matiyasi FC rivals for promotion beat Kototo Happy Boys 33-1 on the same date.
Seven own goals were also recorded in favour of the winning team.
The SAFA Mopani region led by Vincent Ramphago (Main Picture) who is also a SAFA NEC member and a head of competitions in Limpopo summoned both clubs to a DC hearing that sat on 25 May in Giyani.
They were both charged and found guilty of contravining SAFA rules.
FARPost is in possession of the verdict signed by the regions DC Chairperson Joseph Mateta released on 28 May 2022.
In the verdict, the region has permanently banned all four clubs involved in the two matches from all football activities in the region for breaching SAFA rules.
The officials implicated from both clubs have also been given a five year suspension from all football activities within the Mopani region.
They are Eddy Hlungwani team manager of Shivulani Dangerous Tigers and Malanguti Macheke who is the coach of Kotoko Happy Boys.
Kaizer Hlungwani who is the head coach of Matiyasi FC and Kulani Thwala who is the head coach of Nsami Mighty Birds.
