Leon Schuster looking for new bride?

After opening up, experiencing depression and loneliness, Leon Schuster has joked about finding a younger bride to put up with his shenanigans.

In recent weeks, the South African comedian’s life story has been told in a five-part documentary series, titled Schuster, on KykNET.

It comes as the DStv channel announced that it had unbanned the 74-year-old prankster’s films, which were previously deemed “racially insensitive”.

LEON SCHUSTER JOKES ABOUT FINDING YOUNG LOVE

In the KykNET docuseries Schuster, the popular TV prankster opened up about his life off-camera.

For the veteran filmmaker, this includes bouts of depression and loneliness.

However, the funnyman has joked that he is possibly looking for love in the arms of a younger woman.

Leon Schuster told the DStv breakfast show Goeiemôre, Good Morning, that he loved to lavish attention on attractive females.

He joked: I pull lots of pranks in the supermarket, especially on the pretty young mummies.”

Schuster told another publication this week that he was ready to love again.

He said, “I don’t want to be alone anymore. I hope to meet a young thing in her 40s. I just hope she’ll understand my health problems, and has empathy and sympathy for them.”

Speaking in the docuseries, Schuster claimed that his “biggest fear” was “growing old alone”.

One of his three daughters also commented about him finding a special lady to settle down with.

AGE-GAP ROMANCE

Leon Schuster is no stranger to dating younger women.

After divorcing his wife, and the mother of four children, Lalie in 1999, the comedian was romantically linked to a significantly younger woman named Leané du Plessis.

At the time, the comedian was nearing 60, while his love interest was just 28 years old.

In 2014, he began dating real estate agent Amanda Coetzee, who was 20 years his junior.

The engaged couple split in 2021.
