Polokwane City co-coach Duncan Lechesa has revealed that they will be going for the kill when they face JDR Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship clash on Sunday.

The two meet at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium and the ex-Mthatha Bucks mentor has demanded an all-out attack from his troops.

City are eager to earn promotion to the Premier Soccer League [PSL].

So far, the Limpopo club have won five games of their last eight league matches this season.

Currently, City are placed second on the table with 16 points, just two points behind log leaders Hungry Lions.

On Monday afternoon, the side got the better of Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila 2-1 in a Motsepe Foundation Championship Limpopo derby encounter at home.

LECHESA IN A CONFIDENT MOOD…

“Look, it’s going to be a very difficult game but we are ready,” Lechesa told FARPost.

“So we are playing home, but for us, our task is to go forward [attack] as we are not here to defend.

“We are here to play to win. We rather lose 5-0 or 5-4 but we are going to attack.”

At the beginning of the campaign, Papi Zothwane, who works alongside Lechesa revealed that their aim was to bring back Rise and Shine to the DStv Premiership.

However, ‘Ginger’, as he is popularly known within football circles, admitted that it won’t be a walk in the park to achieve their ultimate goal as they still have a mammoth task ahead of them.

Remember this team was in the PSL so our task is very heavy because our supporters want to see this team come back in the PSL. Therefore, the technical team and the players are working extremely hard to make them happy,” Zothwane told the media in Polokwane during their 3-0 win over Black Leopards last month.
