Miss South Africa finalist Lebohang Msimanga makes surprise withdrawal

The Miss South Africa Organisation has confirmed that 2025 top 10 finalist Lebohang Msimanga will no longer continue in the competition.

The announcement was made during a media briefing on Tuesday, 30 September 2025, where organisers explained that the 27-year-old Gauteng-based marketer chose to step back after careful reflection.

In a statement, the organisation said Msimanga’s decision was deeply personal and rooted in her wellbeing.

“At this time, to best serve her individual path and well-being. The organisation respects and honours her decision, recognising that true empowerment includes the freedom to make a choice aligned with one’s authentic self,” public relations specialist Nhlanhla Shezi explained.

Her withdrawal comes just weeks before the highly anticipated finale set for 25 October.

Unlike in past years, organisers made it clear that Msimanga’s spot will not be filled, meaning the competition will now move forward with nine finalists.

“In keeping with the spirit of this new era, which prioritises purpose, authenticity, and meaningful participation, the organisation will not be replacing her position. Each finalist has been selected for their unique voice and vision, and the competition will proceed with the remaining candidates who are fully committed to the mission and responsibilities of representing South Africa on the continental stage,” Shezi added.
