Mamelodi Sundowns’ utility man Lebohang Maboe has identified Marumo Gallants’ danger men ahead of their DStv Premiership clash this weekend.
Sundowns, who are fresh from a disappointing 2-2 draw against AmaZulu on Wednesday, will face Gallants at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
The relegation threatened Limpopo side also played out a 2-2 draw last time out against Maritzburg United, a result that was most welcome in their context.
They will head into the clash against champions Sundowns desperate to get something as they look to steer further clear of the relegation zone.
Lebohang Maboe is expecting a tough battle against Gallants and has identified some of the players he believes could cause problems for Sundowns.
MARUMO GALLANTS’ DANGER MEN REVEALED
“I think their striker [Ranga Chivaviro] has been doing very well,” said Maboe.
“I saw Lucky Mohomi has been popping up with a lot of assists as well. [Celimpilo] Ngema has also been one of their outstanding players throughout the season.
“They have a pretty decent team, but we will do our homework and analysis. We will be well prepared for the game.”
Although they will be enemies on Saturday, Sundowns and Gallants will swiftly turn their attention to continental football where they have similar goals.
The two sides have been flying the country’s flag high in the continent, reaching the semi-finals of the Caf Champions League and Confederation Cup, respectively.
FLYING THE SOUTH AFRICAN FLAG HIGH
And Maboe wished Gallants well in their Confed Cup semi-final first leg against Tanzania’s Young Africans on 10 May.
Sundowns will face Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca in their Champions League semi-final first-leg on 10 May.
“Let me also take this opportunity to wish Marumo Gallants all of the best in their Confederation Cup semi-final that is coming up soon. We wish them all the best.”
