A young female attorney was fatally shot in an apparent targeted attack in the Johannesburg CBD on Monday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Fox and Joubert Streets, just 100 metres from the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) offices and a nearby magistrate’s court.
Witnesses reported seeing the woman collapse alongside a white hatchback, with her brown briefcase found nearby.

Although emergency services attended the scene, she was pronounced dead before the arrival of pathologists.
While authorities have yet to confirm her identity or the motive, unconfirmed reports suggest she was a practitioner en route to a hearing, potentially involving a mining retrenchment dispute.
