Latest Rama & Buchanan Twist Confirmed

Newly installed AmaZulu caretaker coach Ayanda Dlamini has revealed he brought Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Keagan Buchanan back to the squad after they had been axed by his predecessor Romain Folz.

Both players had been axed from the squad, as first reported by iDiski Times, but after Folz’s departure they have been given a new lease of life at Usuthu.

Mphahlele returned to training last week already and was on the bench in AmaZulu’s 2-2 with Cape Town City on Sunday, with Dlamini confirming that Buchanan is also back with the squad.

“I brought them back because I feel we need them,” he said after the match.

“Rama has been very good for us. I don’t remember a game where he didn’t do well for us since he came.

“Keagan also has not played as much, but he is a very good player with his experience.

“So I said they should come back, even if we look at Kwem who hasn’t played a lot this season but he came and did very well.

“It reminds me of a situation I first took over, in 2019/20, there were players that were suspended, Major [Lehlohonolo Majoro] was one of them, quite a few others, [Thembela] Sikhakhane was one of them.

“I brought them back, and we managed to save the team because I felt that we need them.

“When we bring those players back, even their teammates they need them, it lifts them up.”

AmaZulu, who sit five points above the relegation spot, will only return to action on 23 April when they will face SuperSport United.
