Larsen Targets Top 3 After Being Unveiled By Magesi

Magesi FC officially announced Clinton Larsen as their head coach at Meropa Casino outside Polokwane on Wednesday.
Larsen was signed on a six-months contract with an option to extend. Larsen was at ABC Motsepe League side Summerfield Dynamos last season where he helped them get to the promotional playoffs and qualify for the Nedbank Cup.
He has been tasked with competing for a top three finish. Dikwena tsa meetse are currently in 10th position on the Motsepe Foundation Championship log with 16 points.
Club CEO John Mathibe said mathematically the target is reachable.
“Mathematically we can go as far as the playoffs even winning the automatic promotion. So we are there to compete. We did acquire the services of experienced players and the coaches are finalising the report and in due time you will know who is who,” said Mathibe during Larsen’s unveiling.
Meanwhile Larsen revealed that it was a call from his current assistant coach Jacky Ledwaba that helped him make up his mind about coming back to the professional set-up. He also emphasised his CEO’s words about being competitive in the league.
“In the NFD you don’t need a mandate,” he added.
“All 16 teams are fighting for one thing, to finish in the top three and that is what we are trying to achieve. At the moment Polokwane is number one and we want to get into the top three.”
