Amapiano star Lady Du, real name Duduzile Ngwenya, is mourning the passing of her father, DJ Choc Ngwenya.
The 51-year-old music pioneer passed away last week. Family spokesperson Sandy Ngwenya confirmed the news in a statement on Friday, 11 April.
The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Taking to Instagram, Lady Du said she is struggling to come to terms with her father’s death.
The Woza hitmaker said the past few days have been the toughest of her life.
She added: “Baba, we were so close. Now God, why would you hurt me like this? To everyone that has supported me and sent messages, I thank you. I’m a mess right now.
“I won’t be myself for some time – I ask you to understand and respect that. God bless you. I ask that you respect and love your families. We are living on borrowed time.”

Tributes pour in for DJ Choc
Tributes are continuing to pour in on social media for the late DJ.
“DJ Choc was a pioneer, a narrator, and one of the most notable artists to grace the music, art, and creative industry in the country.
“The EFF is deeply saddened by his passing, and we wish the family and friends strength in these difficult times,” said the EFF in a statement.
