La Passe head coach James Barra has rated this current Mamelodi Sundowns team higher than the one he lost to when he was coaching Cote Dor FC in 2019.
Barra faced Sundowns four times in his coaching career and he lost all four, conceding 31 goals and scoring two.
In 2019 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League second preliminary round Downs hammered Seychelles side Cote Dor FC by 16-1 on aggregate, this time around they were one goal short to equal that score-line when they faced La Passe. Barra feels like this Sundowns is much better than the 2019 team and is well organised.
“I said before, last Sunday it’s the second time I play against Sundowns. I think this team is much better than the team in 2019,” Barra told the media.
“They have more technically good players and tactically they are well organised. The players know what they have to do.
“As I said these players from Sundowns are professionals as we at home have to work and then we have to come play football, we don’t have salaries we get small allowances.”
The Seychelles side bowed out of the CAF Champions League and will now compete in the play-off round of the CAF Confederations Cup for group stages.
