KZN Floods Cause Singer’s Family More Pain! Deborah Fraser Still Not Buried After Funeral service

Often when a loved one passes away the pain seems to lessen after the funeral service knowing we’ve finally put them to the rest. For Deborah Fraser’s family, the story is different as they’ve had the funeral service but they were not able to bury her.

The famous Gospel singer died on 15 May after a short battle with a minor illness. Her star-studded funeral took place on Saturday 22 May but everything didn’t go according to plan. When it was time for those who attended the funeral to proceed to  Lala Kahle Cemetery in Hillcrest, west of Durban they were warned not to.

Family, friends, and artists were asked not to go to the cemetery as the floods have caused chaos at the cemetery. A family spokesperson who spoke to a local publication said they wouldn’t be able to confirm when the singer will be buried.

Meanwhile a source said: “At the moment they are suggesting Monday as they believe the floods will end, according to the SA weather service.”

“Everything will be controlled by the weather because they can’t just throw the coffin into a grave with water and mud,” the source said.
