Mamelodi Sundowns striker Thabiso Kutumela has outlined two Maritzburg United weaknesses ahead of their DStv Premiership encounter on Tuesday evening.
He pinpointed a lack of consistency and a change of set up in the Team of Choice camp.
The KwaZulu-Natal outfit are still trying to hit the ground running this season.
It’s an entirely different set up for Maritzburg, with coach John Maduka at the helm and many new faces who joined during the transfer window.
LACK OF CONSISTENCY
“Since I’ve left the team, they’ve been playing, but they don’t have consistency in their approach and I think we can definitely get three points from them,” Kutumela told the club’s media department.
NEW COACH AND PLAYERS
“Their line up keeps changing, even the coach and the players are still new, they are still trying to find combinations and their style of play.”
Masandawana, who are coming from a humiliating defeat at the hands of Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 semifinal in Durban on Saturday will be aiming to get back to winning ways.
Kutumela insists it’s a must win match against Maritzburg as the Tshwane giants are eager to redeem themselves to the Yellow Nation.
“I know how they play their games, when they play derby games you can see that they want to win it and also when they play against big teams they show that they have nothing to lose,” added Kutumela.
“They give it their everything and that’s why they were able to get three points in the previous game when we played against them.
“But now we have to focus and make sure that we win this game; it’s a must win to make our supporters happy.”
Kutumela will be hoping for a happy reunion at his former club by making a meaningful impact if given the opportunity to play. This season he has only made three appearances in the league and is yet to register his first goal.
Kickoff at Harry Gwala Stadium is at 19:30.
