Job Summary
•We have an exciting position for a Fitter to perform ad hoc mechanical maintenance on equipment and machinery in a safe and cost effective manner to maximise equipment reliability and availability, whilst enabling the achievement of production targets.
Duties And Responsibilities
•As a Fitter, you will conduct work on various equipment pieces (HME / Plant equipment) including:
•Maintain and test all equipment / machinery to ensure functionality, safety, reliability and availability to complete jobs within the specified timeframe and budgetary limits.
•Conduct inspections to identity possible failures and repair or raise notifications for repairs
•Ensure effective maintenance of plant equipment and related machinery to ensure optimal utilisation and availability toward maximising production and throughput schedules.
•Adhere to all health and safety practices requirements and promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where team members can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
•Ensure Learners under your supervision adhere to all relevant safety standards & procedures
•Support relevant personnel by ensuring that RCA, as well as the necessary plant and equipment maintenance preparations and maintenance tasks are done in accordance with SMP (Standard Maintenance Practice), to contribute to the achievement of improving work practices and operational targets.
•Continuously monitor maintenance progress and related preparation activities against planned schedules to meet operational targets, minimize downtime, enable timely reporting and enhance plant efficiency.
•Perform a variety of hand, bench and tool machine work by machining different shaped parts, computing angles of rake and clearance, computing from blueprints or specifications and shaping cutting tools to specified tolerances to maximise production and throughput schedules
Qualifications:
•Grade 12 Certificate
•Qualified Artisan (Fitter) – must be qualified from Sivos
•Drivers License
Experience:
-2 Years’ experience as an Artisan
