Kopo Turns Down Chippa Move

Kwanele Kopo has turned down a Chippa United move after resigning at Pretoria Callies.

The former Callies coach was confirmed by the club’s chairman to have resigned from the Motsepe Foundation Championship and he was rumoured to be joining Chilli Boys alongside Morgan Mammila and Siyabulela Gwambi.

The Eastern Cape-based side recently announced the re-appointment of Mammila as the head coach and Gwambi as the first assistant coach.

It won’t be the first time these two work together as they did in the middle of the 2022/23 season and saw them winning a club record four games in a row.

While Kopo and Sinethemba Badela, whose All Stars side have sold their status to Black Leopards in the second tier, have been touted as potential additions to the technical team, the former SuperSport United coach has rejected the advances.

iDiski Times understands he was offered a one-month settlement by Chilli Boys if things don’t accordingly which was said to be the deal breaker in negotiations.
