Khanyi Mbau’s Parenting Skills Questioned After Disclosing Her 15-Year-Old Daughter Stays Alone

Hmmm, what an interesting way of parenting! At the age of 15, Khanyi Mbau’s daughter is already living alone and her mom has expressed that she doesn’t have a problem with her having sex.

Now viewers are convinced that judging by the way things are going she and the mom might soon be in Dubai fighting for the same man. As you might have know there’s a new show on Netflix and hayibo it has the world talking, especially about Khanyi.

First, it was about her insecurities, then it went to her alleged fraudster who went MIA and now it’s all about her 15-year-old who’s allowed to wake up tomorrow and decide to give up her virginity.

During a sit-down dinner of  ‘Young, Famous & African’ Khanyi revealed that she’s no longer staying with her daughter, Khanz. She further went on to say that she sees nothing wrong if the young lady decides to have sex.

“We allow Khanz to be herself; if she wants to try stuff, I mean anything… we let her try it. Cause we want to see who this person is.”

A question was then raised by fellow cast member and TV presenter Andile Ncube, who asked Khanyi where she “drew the line” since her daughter was just a teenager.

“But then where do you draw the line? What happens when she’s curious about sex at 15?” asked the father of two.

“I said there’s no age for it. You can give away your virginity tomorrow night. It’s worse because you sleep in your own apartment,” Khanyi said.

Many have been in disagreement with this parenting style, including Annie Macaulay-Idibia, a Nigerian actress and mother of two.

Annie said: “She’s too young. This thing didn’t sit well with me. I didn’t like what I was hearing. She is still young, she might not be able to make the right decisions. Regardless of how you speak with her, she’s still 15.”

The self-acclaimed gold digger said: “Virginity can be lost or it can be stolen. To lose it when you are ready and it’s a boy you think you are going to marry, you give it away. You love this guy, you are 15, you think you are going to marry him… you give it away.”

Mzansi appears to be divided as a result of this advice. Some have accused Khanyi of being too permissive, claiming that her parenting style breaches African tradition, which encourages celibacy in unmarried women.
