Khanyi Mbau was born on the 15th of October 1985 in Soweto. Although she has cabinets of awards to show Khanyi is not very old. She is just a lady on a mission to make history in her career as the best entertainer Mzansi ever got.

Well, it looks like her dreams of making history in Mzansi and worldwide are coming true. Khanyi is spreading her wings to Africa as she joined the popular Netflix reality show Young, Famous and African. This is just the beginning; watch the space.

She has done it all: A look at Khanyi Mbau’s career in the entertainment industry

Acting

Khanyi is famous for playing the role of Doobsie in the long-running show Muvhango. She nailed her role to perfection, making Mzansi fall in love with her. After portraying her role for ages, she later ditched the show for greener pastures.

After her role on Muvhango, Khanyi has been bagging other acting gigs, and she is currently playing the role of Zandile in the telenovela The Wife.

Ballroom dancing 

Khanyi recently shared throwback videos of herself as a contestant in Strictly Come Dancing 2014. She took part in the competition when she was aged 28. Although she was the fans’ favourite contestant, Khanyi did not make it to the top 5, and she was voted out of the competition. Khanyi did not win the completion, but she made history by being the first South African woman to participate in Strictly Come Dancing.

Khanyi is, without a doubt, one of the living legends in Mzansi. Although her music career is not very famous, she has recorded three albums. She is jake of trades who also has her hands in music and presenting.
